Waffles from Scratch

Ingredients
  

  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 tablespoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs lightly beaten

Instructions
 

  • Spray both surfaces of your waffle iron, and preheat according to manufacturer’s directions.
  • Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a medium sized bowl.
  • Add milk, oil and eggs and stir until combined but still slightly lumpy.
  • Slightly underfill your preheated waffle grill, and close the lid. The waffle will expand as it cooks and fill the rest of the space.
  • Cook until the waffle is light golden brown, or until your waffle iron indicates the waffle is done.
  • To serve, top with butter, syrup, jam, fresh fruit, whipped topping, honey, Nutella, yogurt, or whatever else you like.
