This is a great recipe for taco seasoning mix. it makes a perfect substitute for the little packets at the grocery store. And because you make it yourself, you can adjust the salt or turn up the heat to suite your own tastes. I use this for tacos of course, but also for southwest chicken and black beans and southwest skillet dinner. This recipe makes the equivalent of about 2 taco seasoning packets.
Taco Seasoning Mix
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to taste
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients together.
- I use 1 tablespoon taco seasoning and ¼ cup of water for each ½ lb. of browned ground meat.
- Store any extra spice mix in an airtight container.
