These simple little appetizers are ridiculously easy, and so amazingly good. We first tried them at a Christmas party, and the guests inhaled them as fast as they appeared. I’ve been making them for special occasions ever since, although they seem almost too fancy for dinner at home with the kids. Oh well.
Bacon Wrapped Dates
Ingredients
- 20 pitted dates
- 2-3 ounces cream cheese
- 10 slices of bacon
- 20 toothpicks
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Slice each date lengthwise, part way through.
- Add a scoop of cream cheese to the center, and push the date closed. Continue for all the dates.
- Cut each bacon slice in half, and wrap the bacon around the date/cheese combo, securing with a toothpick.
- Place the appetizers in a baking pan lined with aluminum foil, and bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until the bacon is crispy.
